AOI islands: qualify magazine and product changeover between inspection batches

An inspection island must preserve the product assignment while magazines, recipes and output destinations change. Review the transition between batches, not only steady running.

Inspection islands

Define where one batch ends and the next begins

List the product identifier, magazine identifier, inspection program and output destination for each batch. Decide how boards already inside the island are accounted for during a change. A recipe change on the AOI alone does not establish a complete island changeover. Request a written sequence covering the loading station, inspection machine and unloader together, including the permitted empty or partially occupied carrier states.

Inspection islands

Make the recipe and carrier assignment visible

Ask how the controller or operator associates each incoming carrier with its product and inspection program. Record any required manual confirmation. Do not infer automatic identification from the presence of a barcode reader elsewhere in the line. The combined-loader and NG-OK unloader references illustrate material-flow roles; they do not certify an installed factory-specific data association or inspection program.

Inspection islands

Test a realistic short run followed by a change

Prepare two identified products with the carrier formats and inspection programs intended for production. Finish the first run through the supported procedure, then load the second without leaving ambiguous boards in the island. Observe the first and last outputs of each batch. Request the documented response to a carrier with the wrong assignment. Keep all tests within the equipment-approved commissioning sequence.

Retain the changeover instructions and evidence

Include the selected programs, carrier dimensions, output rules and operator confirmation steps in the acceptance pack. Record what remains manual and what is demonstrated as automatic. A smooth running video of one product is not proof of mixed-product changeover. Requalify material-flow assumptions when a new carrier, product code or result interface is introduced.
