Mechanical installation
Measure the plane the board actually follows
Identify the upstream and downstream board-support planes on the approved layout. Measure from the installed floor reference rather than from the top of a cabinet cover. The wave-infeed and outfeed references perform different transport duties; their external shapes do not define a shared transfer plane. Ask the supplier to mark its transfer-height reference and the intended fixed rail on a drawing.

Mechanical installation
Check the offered adjustment hardware
Request the actual foot, frame or lift adjustment arrangement and the supported range for the specific unit. Include any incline or process-specific transfer geometry. Do not assume an advertised adjustment allowance is available after every modification or accessory is installed. On a used machine, photograph the adjustment hardware and its condition. A model reference does not show whether the required parts are still present.
Mechanical installation
Inspect both interfaces with representative boards
After supplier-approved installation and leveling, check the handoff at each end using the agreed board sizes and support requirements. Observe any tendency to catch, drop or change support during transfer. Include the normal stopped-board state. A correct nominal height at one point cannot resolve rail misalignment or a different support geometry at the opposite interface. Preserve the installed measurements with the commissioning record.

Mechanical installation
Quote installation adaptations explicitly
List height matching, rail alignment and any required interface adapter in the purchase scope. Request drawings and qualified installation responsibility instead of leaving the adjustment to an undocumented site improvisation. Recheck the transfer plane if a neighboring machine is moved or the floor arrangement changes. Acceptance applies to the installed interfaces, not merely to a brochure height figure.
