| Variant | Part number | Compatibility | Specifications |
|---|---|---|---|
| AFG formulation reference | AFG | THK describes AFG within its LM-system lubrication range. Suitability for a particular SMT lubrication point is not approved here. |

Understand this reference
Application and identification
THK lists AFG and AFF as different greases within its original-grease range. Its description associates AFG with ball-screw heat-generation concerns, micro-vibration and sliding friction, while AFF has a different feature set and is listed as lithium-based. These distinctions explain why a shared AF prefix is insufficient for choosing a lubricant. The image is an official AFG packaging illustration; it does not establish the pack size, batch, remaining life or authenticity of any item offered by LCSMT.
02 / Check before ordering
Match the installed part
The family page groups related variants; it does not imply that variants are interchangeable.
- Identify the machine, lubrication point and applicable grease requirement before selecting AFG.
- Keep formulation, package format and quantity as separate order fields.
- Request the offered package’s own label and available batch or storage information; do not infer these from an official illustration.
03 / Make a useful decision
Selection and replacement advice
Start with the machine’s specified lubrication point and approved grease designation. Compare a repeat supply of that formulation with a proposed change of formulation as different requests. A change requires the responsible maintenance team’s application decision; a supplier’s description of a cartridge as SMT grease is not that decision. Ask for a quotation that names the formulation, required package, quantity and applicable label or batch evidence. Compare usable supply scope rather than a price attached to an unspecified tube. An AFG image must not be reused to depict the AFF comparison row.
04 / Care and handling
Maintenance and handling guidance
Retain the existing lubricant identity and the maintenance record before proposing a formulation change. If the identity is unknown, resolve it through the responsible service team rather than filling the gap from cartridge colour.
Follow the applicable machine and lubricant documentation for handling, quantity and interval. This page supplies no universal purge, mixing, cleaning or lubrication schedule.

Stock, authenticity, condition, test results and interchangeability require separate evidence. A family photograph cannot prove them.
05 / Before you ask
Questions about this family
Are AFG and AFF two names for the same grease?
THK lists them separately and describes different characteristics. No substitution is approved by this page.
Does the illustrated cartridge identify the quoted package?
No. The quotation must state the package and quantity, and the actual offered label requires separate evidence.
Is AFG approved for every SMT machine?
No. The lubrication point and applicable machine requirement must be checked independently.
