A common series prefix leaves the purchasing decision open
A quotation headed “MR-J2S drive for JUKI” may identify a product family while leaving the actual replacement unresolved. The maker’s complete model, the machine purchasing code and the settings required by the installation are different records. Repeating the family prefix in a title does not connect them.
Start with the installed equipment requirement. Keep an exact requested assembly, a proposed alternative and repair of the existing unit as separately described options. This makes missing evidence visible before commercial terms make different offers appear comparable.
Read the manual without extending its scope
Mitsubishi’s generic MR-J2S-B manual identifies the model and other fields on a rating plate. It also directs parameter setting according to the structure and specifications of the machine. Those are reasons to preserve the actual nameplate and configuration responsibility; they are not a recipe for replacing a customised SMT assembly.
The manual does not establish what the supplier-listed -S009V613 suffix means in the JUKI application. Do not label it a firmware version, remove it or invent an equivalent standard unit without the applicable evidence. This article supplies no wiring, parameter values or energisation instructions.

Compare three records, then the supply scope
- Machine purchasing reference: retain the code required for the installed machine and axis, with its applicable parts or service reference.
- Maker identity: retain the complete actual amplifier model and suffix, plus readable offered-item nameplate and connection evidence.
- Configuration responsibility: identify which authorised party preserves, assesses and restores the applicable settings or other required data.
- Delivery and acceptance: state whether the offer is hardware only, a configured assembly or a repair; define the actual evidence each party must supply.
Do not fill an unknown field with “same as original.” Identify the document or responsible technical party needed to resolve it.
Retain the supplier pairing as a claim to check
The FX-1R drive reference pairs 40026786 with MR-J2S-200B-S009V613. Keep those in separate columns. The supplier pairing is useful for an enquiry, but does not prove that a differently marked unit is accepted by the machine or that the offered device contains a suitable configuration.
For an alternative, ask which exact designation is proposed and what application evidence supports it. A similar enclosure, a common series prefix or a general manual download is not the missing replacement approval. Likewise, the absence of a readable suffix in a small photograph is not permission to omit it.
Do not let a bench check answer a different question
Ask a seller to describe what an actual bench check covered, on which item and with which stated conditions. Keep that result separate from the installed-machine assessment. An undefined “tested OK” statement cannot tell the buyer whether the relevant settings, interfaces and machine acceptance have been addressed.
The MVME3100 board example shows a related procurement trap. A board photograph does not establish a configured controller. It should not be mixed into a servo-amplifier comparison merely because both are electronic spares. Define the function and delivered assembly before comparing offers.
Close the comparison with accountable decisions
The selected offer should identify the exact hardware scope, outstanding application questions and the party responsible for configuration and acceptance. Keep approvals linked to the actual installation and offered designation. If the required data is unavailable, record the dependency before assuming that a cheaper bare unit will complete the repair.
This framework does not guarantee a repair outcome, stock, authenticity or interchangeability. Its purpose is to prevent an unresolved engineering question from being hidden inside a shortened purchasing description. Electrical, configuration and machine work remain with qualified personnel following the applicable instructions.
Technical sources and catalogue examples
The generic Mitsubishi MR-J2S-B manual supports reading the maker’s model/nameplate and setting parameters for the machine structure and specification. It does not document the JUKI custom suffix or certify the pictured supplier assembly. Supplier examples and the proposed comparison record have separate roles.
