Two motor prices can cover different jobs
One quotation may supply a bare motor. Another may include its leads, connectors, bracket or pulley. A third may also include an agreed installation and machine assessment. These are different offers even when the catalogue ordering reference appears the same.
Before comparing prices, define what must be supplied and what the machine-side team will retain. Ask who will establish that the proposed motor is appropriate for the actual mechanism, drive and feedback arrangement. A purchase is not complete merely because a delivered motor can be physically bolted in place.
Use the applicable combination evidence
Mitsubishi Electric provides explicit motor/amplifier combination tables, including version conditions, in the cited MR-J3W manual. Those tables apply to the documented Mitsubishi system. They are not approval for another maker, another drive family or an SMT machine integration.
The useful buying question is which actual document supports the proposed combination. Ask for the installed motor designation, drive identity and machine-specific replacement basis. A similar connector shape, matching brand name or apparently suitable power figure is not that evidence.

Separate three quotation scopes
- Mechanical contents: list motor, bracket, pulley, coupling, leads and connector hardware separately. State what is retained from the removed assembly.
- Identity and compatibility: retain the full machine-side ordering code and manufacturer motor label, including the suffix. Identify the actual drive and feedback arrangement and the applicable documented combination.
- Commissioning and acceptance: name the responsible qualified service team and the work its quotation covers. Define the required result record, actual machine context and treatment of an unresolved mismatch.
No electrical test, pin assignment or parameter change is prescribed here. The applicable machine and component instructions determine those tasks.
Different catalogue examples are not a matched pair
The N510042739AA motor reference has differing supplier application descriptions. The actual host and complete motor-label suffix remain important, even where another catalogue associates several ordering references. The reference photograph is not an OEM supersession document.
The J3153032A / MSDC5A5A3A06 driver reference belongs to a Samsung CP45NEO supplier listing. It is shown to illustrate a separate drive identity, not as a companion for that Panasonic motor. Catalogue proximity is not an electrical or software combination approval.
Choose the scope that matches the unresolved work
If an exact documented replacement and service arrangement already exist, a hardware-only quotation may cover the remaining procurement need. If the motor label, retained hardware or applicable drive combination is unresolved, the enquiry should include that assessment rather than hide it inside a parts price.
A repair, an exchange and a new replacement may also place different responsibilities on the buyer. Clarify core return, included accessories, assessment evidence and the point at which the proposed assembly is accepted. Avoid a blanket tested description that does not identify what was actually checked.
Keep the acceptance record tied to the actual axis
Retain the supplied-item identity, included hardware and agreed result with the machine and axis record. A bench observation does not, by itself, establish the integrated machine outcome. An installation visit is likewise not proof that every required acceptance item was completed.
For the drive-side identity and configuration record, see the servo-driver code and parameter handover guide. This article adds no claim about current stock, a universal motor alternative or performance after replacement.
Technical sources and catalogue examples
The Mitsubishi Electric manual lists motor/amplifier combinations and version-dependent conditions for its own system. It demonstrates why compatibility requires the applicable combination documentation; it approves none of the Panasonic or Samsung catalogue examples on this page.
